Every time there is a mass shooting, the gun control advocates come crawling out there bunkers and start pointing to their evidence, most of which is Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc fallacies — and gun control is also the Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc Fallacy that the nervous want to avoid discussing.
Deaths by guns per 100,000 are less than what it was 48 years ago and not once have we seen anyone who is a member of the NRA being convicted as being a terrorist or mass shooter.
With the arrival of COVID and lockdowns, there has been an increase during the first year of COVID, the court is still out on the cause but it is safe to say stress most likely had much to do with the jump (src Pew Research), however, the gun deaths per 100,000 still remain low overall since 1974…
While 2020 saw the highest total number of gun deaths in the U.S., this statistic does not take into account the nation’s growing population. On a per capita basis, there were 13.6 gun deaths per 100,000 people in 2020 – the highest rate since the mid-1990s, but still well below the peak of 16.3 gun deaths per 100,000 people in 1974. The gun murder and gun suicide rates in the U.S. both remain below their peak levels. There were 6.2 gun murders per 100,000 people in 2020, below the rate of 7.2 recorded in 1974. And there were 7.0 gun suicides per 100,000 people in 2020, below the rate of 7.7 measured in 1977. (One caveat when considering the 1970s figures: In the CDC’s database, gun murders and gun suicides between 1968 and 1978 are classified as those caused by firearms and explosives. In subsequent years, they are classified as deaths involving firearms only.)
That reasoning for the Liberals being triggered by gun shootings is as sound as their blaming…
- car manufacturers for lousy drivers that kill…
- knife manufacturers for making knives too sharp…
- the Louisville slugger for being an American icon trademark…

- gun manufacturers
- gun stores, shows, exhibits
- military
- law enforcement
- criminals
Each represents where guns can be found…
Put a toothpick or something to represent a gun in all six circles…
The first 4 have an average response time to assist you should you find yourself faced with the 5th circle (criminals) – the first 3 you can forget because they will be a long while in getting to you; that leaves law enforcement, response time will vary depending location from 10 minutes to a few hours.
Now take your toothpick away (your gun)…
What’s happened to your first line of protection?
Suddenly it is dependent upon any one of the 5 circles to provide you protection but can they do so as equally quickly as if you had a gun, say 3 seconds?
Response time in any area where carrying is permitted is usually much less than 10 seconds…
Now here’s something else about the circles – for whatever reason, only you and the criminals can have an unlimited inventory of guns per person…
Yes, the military has F15a, however, most military personnel remember they have sworn to our Constitution – which means if any dumbass President tells them to turn on the American people will be facing a much bigger problem than he ever thought possible…
Our military knows if our country goes then they go as well — and they would be the first to be hunted by our enemy, not you.
The Failing History of Gun Control
The history of gun control has done ONLY one thing — it has removed guns from legitimate and legally abiding gun owners and placed more into the hands of criminals who will now also use knives, hammers, and bats to kill with a much higher frequency.
In communities and states where concealed carry and open carry are permitted, the number of injuries and deaths from guns has dropped drastically (Texas, Sweden for starters).
Where gun control has increased, it has only gone up – one only has to look at Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, New York City, Baltimore, Portland Oregon, and Seattle for that evidence.
While you’re at it, look at what happened in Venezuela once the citizens had to give up their guns).
Wherever there has been gun control, there have been only adverse results.
Wherever there has been freedom and liberty under the 2nd Amendment there have been only improved results.
Raw stats are readily available from the FBI, NRA, and law enforcement organizations.
Most of what we have seen that advocate gun control has presented flawed data — anyone can make any data backup whatever anyone says, only through asking the right questions do we really discover where to take the right course of action.
A Harvard study that a Washington Post contributor references have already been proven to be flawed by another study from the same university.
The WaPo contributor also focused only on crimes and deaths by guns, ignoring the context of the situation of what happens when you remove guns from the equation– there are more violent deaths as a result (not fewer).
Final Word…
As for me and my family, we are carrying…
Anyone wanting gun control, we’ll abide by your desires and call 911, sit back, and wait…
Unless the shooter comes at us, at which point you are on your own…
Any President who has declared himself through his inactions a clear and present danger to We the People and has declared we are on our own for any protection is no longer fit to lead our country.
Period.
