EVERY time there is a mass shooting, the gun control advocates come crawling out pointing to their evidence — gun control is a Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc Fallacy that the nervous want to avoid discussing. Deaths by guns is 50% of what it was 40 years ago and not once have we seen anyone who is a member of the NRA being convicted as being a terrorist nor mass shooter — yet who do they blame? That reasoning is as sound as blaming car manufacturers for lousy drivers that kill… for knife manufactures for making knives too sharp… for the Louisville slugger for being an American icon trademark…
Draw six circles…
Each represents where guns can be found…
1 — gun manufacturers
2 — gun stores
3 — military and law enforcement
4 — gun shows and exhibits
5 — criminals
6 — legal gun owners
The history of gun control has done ONLY one thing gun — it has removed guns from #6 and placed more in #5 while both #5 and #6 will now use knives, hammers and bats to kill with a much higher frequency than guns were used before they were removed.
In communities and states where concealed carry and open carry are permitted, the number of injuries and deaths from guns have dropped drastically (Texas, Sweden for starters). Where gun control has increased, it has only gone up (one only has to look at Detroit and Chicago for that evidence).
Wherever there has been gun control, there has been only adverse results, wherever there has been freedom and liberty under the 2nd Amendment there has been only improved results. Raw stats are readily available from the FBI, NRA, and law enforcement organizations. Most of what I have seen that advocate gun control have presented flawed data — anyone can make any data backup whatever anyone says, only through asking the right questions do we really discover what where to take the right course of action.
The Harvard study the Washington Post contributor references has already been proven to be flawed by another study from the same university. H e also focuses only on crimes and deaths by guns, ignoring the context of the situation of what happens when you remove guns from the equation– there are more violent deaths as a result (not fewer).
There is also the factor of how long it takes 911 or other law enforcement resources to arrive to a scene where there is a shooter – this has been recorded by various enforcement agencies of being anywhere from 10 minutes to more than 2 hours (it is a matter of available resources – the further you are from a metropolitan area the longer the response)… Response time in any area where carrying is permitted is usually less than 10 seconds…
As for me and my family, we are carrying… Anyone wanting gun control, we’ll abide by your desires and call 911, sit back and wait… Unless the shooter comes at us, at which point you are on your own…
This is especially true due in light of the ineptness from a pathetic excuse of a President that will not call this a terrorist attack…
- 3 days prior ISIS said they will make an attack in the U.S.
- Mateen declared his allegiance to ISIS
- Mateen yelled Allah Akbar as he started his shooting
IF anything Obama has declared himself through his inactions a clear and present danger to We the People and has declared we are on our own for any protection.
