Today – Saturday, 6-June-2020 – marked the passing of fellow member John Drury from his earthly to his heavenly body.
A tribute from one of our members…
“For those who knew John well, any tribute could not compare to the man he was.
“He’s probably one of the most brilliant persons I’ve met, as was evidenced in his speech and writing. I had the pleasure of reading his Master’s thesis and discussing it over a year.
“A Renaissance man, he was a top athlete, physicist, engineer, a man of the sea, builder, hunter, linguist, poet, and military intelligence was his passion. Most of the paintings in his home was done by him..He was always designing and creating ideas and opportunities.
“Most importantly, he loved our creator and in the last several months he spent more time in the Word of God. Please pray for his family as they walk through this difficult time.”
He was a strong believer in God and was always seeking to improve his daily relationship with Him.
He was also a firm believer in what Decisive Liberty is, our vision, and our mission – he took that belief to action, offering his services to our group.
More importantly, he believed in and had a mighty love for our country and our God.
Most importantly, he knew and loved the value of being in a relationship with One who makes all things possible.
We never know when – nor how – we will leave our Earthly for our Heavenly body.
We do know what awaits those that pursue God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit is glorious beyond imagination.
It is that place in which John is now acclimating himself.
He will be missed, but then again, he left a piece of him with each of us.
Quite sure everyone who knows him and in our groups are keeping John’s wife and his family in your thoughts – we serve at their slightest request.
He will be missed and we all cherish the piece of him he purposely, sometimes forcefully, placed with us.
Lord, you have taken upon You a mighty talented and gifted warrior. He was imperfect, like all of us, yet in his imperfections, he was perfect for all of us. Thank You Lord for the blessings we received through him and his family. We all look forward to seeing him once again – or even for the first time – in our days to come. In all these things we pray. Amen.
