Everyone’s Liberty Must Be Protected, Not Just The Liberty of Those You Like

Originally published:

This isn’t directed at my followers as I believe most of you already know this — but this is provided as food for thought for those ‘conversations’ with someone who does need to hear or read these words…

It’s astounding how many will take it upon themselves to rob others of their liberty and their rights in the guise of calling them any sort of card (racist, hater, bigot, etc) and then expect their own liberty and rights to remain intact…  and to be done so with respect…

Newsflash:
That is not how life works…
Never has, never will…

What you put out will come back at you,
No matter what you put out…
And many times with a vengeance…

Protection of liberty is not just for those we like, love, or whom we agree — it is for all…

Even if you do not like who they like or dislike,

Even if you do not like who they love or not love,

Even if you disagree with them and think them a racist, hater, bigot or whatever else is the latest trendy card to flip…

And no one has the right or license to rob it from someone else under any guise…

That type of stance is not liberty and freedom but self-righteousness without any form of salvageable nor reputable character —
and it opens the door to tyranny at all levels in life, with or without the government…

For that reason, e.v.e.r.y.o.n.e’s liberty should be protected long before protecting anyone who likes to flip that political correctness card in a vain attempt to hold someone else accountable for their feelings, likes, dislikes, love or hate…
Physical harm, down right bullying is beyond all this should be confronted with an immediate rebuke.

Anyone of character will not be found protecting the liberty of anyone forsaking the liberty of another for the sake of a card nor for the sake of political correctness….

If anything, anyone of character will be found calling those who do such atrocities to the carpet in private, and if necessary, in public…

In any situation, the guilty are always the least affected — always…
Knowing this much can help you discern who to address once you know who has been least affected.

As for the fear mongers… Well, the results are already coming it…

While our government officials and our military swear to uphold and protect our Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, all of us pledge our allegiance to our flag and to our Republic.

This stance means our soldiers protect our Constitution, the framework of our fundamental laws, our freedoms, our civil liberties, our governance, and everything within.

That results in our flag representing all of us - even for those that do things of which we do not like or agree.

That hardly means those that have a love of country as well as love for our flag are not hurt at any desecration, ill-intent, or abuse - that also hardly means that anyone can do as they so please without ethical, moral and/or legal ramifications.

As a result, our flag has become and earned its place as the most recognized symbol of who we really are - a mighty and strong nation as we operate in compassion, in accordance of our Constitution.

This stance has best been stated during the oration given for the unveiling of our Statue of Liberty on the 28th of October, 1886 - in the closing of that oration you will find these words....

... there is room in America and brotherhood for all who will support our institutions and aid in our development; but those who come to disturb our peace and dethrone our laws are aliens and enemies forever.
