Let’s get on the same page from the start…
Hillary nor Trump is going to be bringing the change we need before nor after the elections.
Right now, everyone – no matter which side of the fence they are on – is looking for the same thing.
Everyone is looking for a change
Everyone has expectations…
Everyone is holding onto hope…
Everyone has an opinion…
Everyone believes their candidate is going to win…
And truthfully, if you stop to think about it all, everyone is setting themselves up
for a fall,
for disappointment…
Once the veil of novelty disintegrates in the first year of the new Presidency,
the hopes,
the dreams,
the change,
the expectations
we had for our candidate
will all start dissolving —
and everyone’s opinions will change once again.
This will happen without a doubt, no matter WHO wins.
The failure of We the People is this:
to recognize one basic principle
about change:
Change only comes from within
before it will manifest itself
around you,
to expect it to be otherwise
is to have an expectation of a fool.
Never has change been successful from the top down — it has always done well when it starts from the bottom up.
Change never occurs with spewing your opinions with anonymity, or not.
Truthfully, most really do not care about your opinion, anyone’s opinion.
They care, however, about change.
And no one will find that change at the Oval Office.
It does not start with Congress.
It does not start with your State.
Nor does it start with your city,
or community…
It will only start with you.
Ask those in Louisiana after living through this flood and Katrina…
Ask those that have lived through one fire after another in California…
Ask those that have survived 9/11 or other terrorist attacks…
Ask our law enforcement who see the worst in humanity every single day they put on that uniform…
They will all tell you the same thing…
Change starts with the person you see in the mirror every morning
It starts every time you log into to a social media platform
It starts every time you talk with someone
It starts every time you are alone
It starts with the thoughts you have while alone
It starts with every voice you listen to, even the one you are hearing now
It starts every second you are awake
It never ends
It continues after any of us die
And they will also tell you…
When the higher road is taken instead of the low road
When we choose to rise over our emotions and build character
When we start controlling our attempt to destroy with knee-jerk emotional words
You will start changing day by day
You will empower yourself from victimized to victor
It will build and fortify your character day by day
And the change is emotional as…
It will be frustrating
It will be glorious
It will leave you happy
It will leave you wondering
It will drive you to be a better you, and
A better you will drive others to seek out the same in them
The ‘it’ is your habit of change…
Everything in life either works for you – or doesn’t…
If it is destructive to you and/or the people around you,
you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to know it isn’t working…
Forcing your opinion,
your views,
your perspective
is NOT going to change someone,
as they are only going to build their resolve to stand ground
And no one changes under that resolve
Not even you
When you step back and be honest with yourself and those you love,
you can recognize and admit what is NOT working…
We are without a doubt as a nation,
as a country,
as a people,
at a precipice.
If you look at it with any sense of hope, a precipice is also a point of opportunity…
If you look at it with any sense of desperation, a precipice is a point of disaster…
Now the clincher: either way, you are going to be right.
So what’s it going to be?
Which right do you want to be left standing with?
An empty bag full of emotions?
Or a sack that is filling up with promising tomorrows?
Rage feeds upon emotion — that same emotion, when trained properly, convicts yourself not makes you a destroyer of others’ dreams, aspirations, lives…
But it is a very long way from an emotional head to a convicted and compassionate heart…
yet there is only 18 inches between the two.
You need to manage the 18 inches between your head and heart, because no one else, especially a politician, will do it for you!
It doesn’t start in D.C.
Nor in your State government
Nor in your city government
nor in your friends
nor in your family.
It starts with the person in the mirror,
every morning.
If you’re thinking you know someone that needs to read this so they can correct their ways..
If you’re thinking this is nothing but a bunch of crap and your way is better or you know best…
Then you need to read this all over again…
As you are right, it is for them…
And I’m right, as it’s definitely for you…
As this was written for all of us…
